The Power of Visualization in Achieving Goals
What is Visualization?
Visualization, often confused for day dreaming, is a mental technique of creating vivid images in your mind as if it has already been achieved. Its more than daydreaming, its an intentional practice. Visualization taps into the brains neuroplasticity where mental imagery creates pathways similar to physical actions. In other simpler terms, visualization makes your brain to create images that's alike to your current actions. Like the law of attraction, like attracts like. You visualize it, you become it. Visualization creates a ripple effect, and give you an edge of how the future might appear, you just need to work towards it.
Visualization amongst all things gives you clarity and focus. It allows you to set your gaze on the important things, and makes you prepared at all times. It also acts as a motivation, most certainly in times its needed the most. A clear image could be what would give you an edge, or what could boost your confidence when needed. Sometimes it acts as a source of adrenaline, giving you energy you didn't even know you had. It also tends to reduce stress, as most time mentally rehearsing the outcome manages anxiety to a minimal level and make challenges seem "less hard".
If you're looking for a way to start, know that you could always start by setting clear goals. Be specific on what you want to achieve, then create a mental picture. Take a moment to close your eyes and imagine every detail, every sight, every emotion. Don't only imagine the results, imagine also the steps you put in to get there.
Be consistent!
Most times you'll face oppositions, be it an unimaginative mind, cynicism, inability to be consistent. If you face any of these challenges, you could take a moment to write down your goals on a piece of paper, this would aid your mind to be creative. Don't listen to any negative thought. Pay no heed to irrelevant things. Focus on what you want, and a desire would be created in you and make you consistent.
Wrapping Up
Visualization is a pathway in achieving your dreams. It activates the brain, and helps build a strong focus and mindset. There's a saying that goes like "if your mind sees it, and you believe it, you can achieve it". Remember, you're one dream away. All it takes is just a dream!
